Memorial day weekend 2008

Hey there Sara-fans... a little behind in the posts for the usual reasons, especially a lack of new pictures... but we took some new ones this weekend.

The last few weeks have been good, but busy (is there any other way). School is done for me so I can focus on research and other such things. The warm part of spring finally reached us this weekend... shorts weather, finally. Lots of time outside this weekend. Unfortunately, the pollen is still around for some reason, and we are looking forward to the end of that, soon hopefully.

The last two weekends have been pretty active socially for us and Sara, a change, and a fun one at that. Last weekend we had dinner at some friends house one night, and Sara had a close space introduction to dogs. The were of the smaller and shall we say more excitable variety. She was a bit afraid, but warmed a little as the she became less of a novelty to the dogs. We also had one of Danette's co-workers and her kids that are school-aged over... Sara had a great time leading the older girl around and playing.

This weekend Sara got to play with Isaac and Julia on Friday night after school which was big fun. Yesterday we had her friend Jacob (same birthday, in the same hospital even) over and had some fun and we went to the park yesterday afternoon... and today, after checking out the new pictures from the Phoenix lander on Mars was the big Memorial Day Parade near our house. Sara was excited for all the events all weekend. Friday morning she woke up ready to see Isaac and Julia, yesterday she was ready to play with Jacob... and today the parade. She had fun at the parade, but the sirens got to be a little much for her this year, a little skittish around the really loud and sudden noises, which was not entirely surprising. It was fun though, and she fell asleep on the way home.

Alright, enough blather, there will probably be more in the next week or so with Sara's big 2nd birthday coming up on Saturday. So here are some pictures.

Sara dressed of her own choosing to enjoy the backyard doing one of her newest favorite activities... sidewalk chalk.

Clapping for the parade.

Sara and Daddy watching the parade from the sidewalk (farther from the bagpipers).

Self-explanatory.
