sick... snow.... cute!

Yeah, so it has been a busy week or so since the last post. Busy as in a sick Sara last week. Two Mondays ago we took Sara into the doc again after she finished meds for the double ear infections on Thanksgiving... doc recommended a wait and see approach because Sara was going to be back in this past Monday for her 6 month checkup and shots and she could look at her ears again... etc.... well, by Thursday I had to stay home and take her to the doc again with a fever and wheezing... just some bronchiolitis typical for infants (not to be confused with bronchitis)... but one of the ear infections was back too, so they did a treatment for the chest in the office and then gave her a shot of antibiotics this time (boy did she love dad at this point!)... And she stayed home Friday as well, so a 4 day weekend for her with Danette and I doing tag-team sick child care....back monday for more shots at her 6 month appt (19 lbs 9 oz, 27.5 inches, though probably longer since she was unhappy and scrunching up)... and now we are going to a specialist for an evaluation for.... you guessed it, tubes... Sara's doc figured the answer would be to go cautious, but she encouraged the specialist opinion regardless....

and of course now Dad has the virus (can't remember the last time my ears were this plugged.. though I think my students had a little laugh at my popping my ears through all my lectures this week)

In happier news, the Saturday after Thanksgiving we say Stacey, Scott and Carter which was quite fun to catchup while they were in town to see family and go to a wedding.

We have also picked up our x-mas tree and got some lights on it (our decorating is going slowly this year) and Danette even got some ornaments on it tonight.

And in weather.... Cleveland finally decided to join the winter crowd and give us some real snow. Got the snowblower out for the first time in 2006 (yes 2006... just light snow after x-mas last year) on Monday morning, and then Tuesday morning again... snow had stopped by the time I got out Tuesday, or so I had thought. Ten minutes into cleaning out the snow it started coming down again... to the point where I started over again and got half done before running out of gas... and it kept snowing another couple inches after that anyway. So I did it all over again Tuesday night... Having a kid in the car certainly makes you more aware of the slick roads! Sheesh... Tonight and tomorrow morning is supposed to bring us even more snow that we got Tuesday... but it is hard to tell with lake effect snow... we could get none and have the town over buried..

Anyway... I love the picture on top of Sara showing her pride in the World Series Champs!... the second one is proof of her graduating to vegies in her "solid" foods... she is using squash for her blush and mascara in this picture. And finally just another pic of her moving around... this time while she is sick... yes, this kid is so naturally happy that she smiles a lot even when she is sick... gotta love her!

Well... off to sleep before another round with the snowblower. Posted by Picasa
